At work

Work is full of moments worth remembering, and most of them fade within a week. You Rock gives them somewhere to live, so the next time someone asks what you've been up to, you don't have to guess.

What to collect

Projects you completed

Write down what you shipped, who it was for and what changed because of it. A single line is enough: the project, your part in it and the outcome.

Challenges you faced

The tricky bug, the tight deadline, the conversation you were dreading. These are the moments that show how you work, not just what you produced.

Compliments you received

Kind words disappear fast. When a teammate thanks you or a manager says you handled something well, save it while you still remember the exact words.

Things you're proud of

Not everything shows up on a roadmap. Helping a new colleague find their footing, cleaning up something nobody wanted to touch, saying no to the right thing. Collect those too.

When it pays off

  • Performance reviews and promotion cases
  • Salary negotiations, when you need specifics rather than a feeling
  • Updating your CV or portfolio without starting from scratch
  • Answering "tell me about a time when…" in interviews
  • One-on-ones, when you can never think of anything to say
  • The rough weeks, when it helps to see how far you've come

Start collecting

Add moments as they happen, a few sentences at a time. In a few months you'll have a record of your work that you didn't have to reconstruct from memory.
